The OptiMate DUO family of battery chargers is built on a simple idea: make charging and maintaining a battery easy. There’s no need to know what type of battery is in your vehicle—if it’s a 12V battery, an OptiMate DUO charger can handle it without issue.
Smart Technology That Adapts Automatically
At the core of this simplicity is the charger’s intelligent algorithm, which automatically adjusts depending on whether the battery is a lead-acid (Pb/AGM) or lithium (LFP) type. This is especially valuable during long-term maintenance, where lead-acid and AGM batteries require continuous care to remain at 100%, while lithium batteries do not.
Tailored Charging for Different Battery Types
For lead-acid and AGM batteries, the charger delivers an hourly “float charge” to keep the battery fully topped up.
With lithium batteries, the OptiMate DUO takes a different approach. It monitors the battery hourly and only delivers a charge if the level drops below 70%, bringing it back up to around 90%. This ensures optimal maintenance without overcharging—smart, efficient, and completely automatic.
True “Connect & Forget” Simplicity
Using an OptiMate DUO charger is straightforward. Simply connect it to the battery and the system takes over. There are no buttons to press and no settings to adjust. Once connected, the charger automatically adapts and manages the process, offering a true “connect and forget” experience that eliminates battery maintenance worries.
Ready-to-Use with Flexible Connections
Each unit includes two connection options: a fused battery lead with M6 ringlets and a protected SAE connector, as well as a set of battery clips designed specifically for the square posts of motorcycle batteries.
A Range of Options for Every Rider
The OptiMate DUO range offers several models to suit different needs.
The OptiMate 1 DUO provides up to 0.6A of charge current, making it ideal for motorcycles, ATVs, or UTVs without continuously active electronics such as keyless ignition systems.
For vehicles with more advanced systems and higher electrical demands, the OptiMate 2 DUO delivers up to 2 Amps of charge current, ensuring faster charging and sufficient maintenance for touring and adventure motorcycles equipped with features like keyless ignition and electronic lockable cases.
Multi-Bank Charging for Multiple Batteries
For users managing multiple batteries, the OptiMate 2 DUO range also includes 2-bank and 4-bank models. Each bank operates independently, delivering 2 Amps and automatically adapting to the connected battery type. This allows different lead-acid or lithium batteries to be charged and maintained simultaneously, making it an ideal solution for multi-vehicle maintenance or new battery preparation.
Off-Grid Charging Solutions
When AC power is not available, there are off-grid options within the DUO family.
The OptiMate DC-DUO can deliver up to 2 Amps of charge to a 12V battery by drawing power from another 12V source, such as a car or pickup truck battery. This makes it a practical tool for maintaining batteries in off-grid storage environments.
Additionally, the OptiMate Solar DUO range offers 10W, 20W, and 40W solar-powered solutions for battery maintenance without reliance on traditional power sources.
