OptiMate Solar DUO TM522-D Pulse Charge Controller : OFF-GRID series 12V lead-acid & lithium Solar Battery Charger & Maintainer (10W-60W)

The OptiMate Solar DUO (model : TM522-D) charge controller converts your basic 12V solar panel into a hi-efficiency smart pulse charger & maintainer for more effective care of your 12V lead-acid or LiFePO₄ (LFP) batteries.

How it works : Without a charge controller and panel directly connected to the battery, your discharged 12V battery pulls the solar panel's voltage well below its effective power delivery range, reducing charge current to less than 25% of the panel's ability. As voltage rises the trickle current slowly increases, but never more than 30-40% of the panel's capability. When the battery reaches full charge, the panel's voltage could now rise above (+15V) what the battery can accept, leading to overcharge.

With the OptiMate Solar DUO smart controller between your panel and battery, it allows the panel to raise its voltage into its effective power range increasing output efficiency to 50-100% (depending on strength of sun) for a faster charge, but at the same time the controller regulates battery charge voltage lower, to exactly what a 12V battery needs.

With OptiMate Solar Duo charge controller you can now leave your solar charge panel permanently connected to your battery - not only does it charges the battery better and faster, there is no possibility of overcharging!

And that's not all, at night the controller turns into a battery monitor, indicating the status of your battery. Come morning, even in cloudy weather, it turns back into a charger and continues caring for your battery.

WORKS ON PANELS RATED FOR 12V BATTERY CHARGING - A panel rated for 12V should supply voltage up to 22V, with its wattage rating calculated at 16-17V.

WIDE POWER RANGE - works best with panels rated between 10W and 60W.

PULSE CONVERSION TECHNOLOGY - Accumulates low current from the panel and converts it into efficient charging pulses ranging from 2A to 5A, never-mind the weather. High sun - more frequent pulses; cloudy skies - less frequent pulses.

CHARGER BY DAY, MONITOR BY NIGHT - switches between charge and monitor mode depending on incoming power. You always know the condition of your battery.
