OptiMate Solar DUO TM522-D2CK: OFF-GRID series 20W car / bakkie 12V Battery Maintenance Kit

The OptiMate Solar DUO 20W Car Kit (model no: TM522-D2CK) combines a weatherproof poly-crystalline 20W solar panel with 4x silicon rubber suction cups, connected to the TM522-D charge controller with an OBDII charge adapter, to create a hi-efficiency smart pulse charger & maintainer for easy in-cabin care of your 12V lead-acid car/bakkie battery. The kit is delivered with a nylon carry case to store the solar charger away when you are using your vehicle.

How it works inside your vehicle : Attach the panel to your windshield with the suction cups, or flip the suction cups around to use as soft feet and place the panel on your dashboard. Connect the solar charge controller to the OBDII diagnostic port located below your steering wheel and that's it. Two pins of the vehicle's OBDII is connected directly to the battery and the OptiMate OBDII charge adapter connects only to those two pins. Your vehicle's battery will receive safe daily battery maintenance through the OBDII port. Store the vehicle for a week or month or longer, your battery is guaranteed to be ready when you need use the vehicle!

The poly-crystalline solar cells work effectively with direct and angled sun, or even with sunlight filtering through cloud, allowing charging in any weather. The OptiMate Solar DUO charge controller converts low current from the panel into effective charge pulses that work better at charging any type of battery.

With the OptiMate Solar DUO smart controller between the 10W panel and battery, the panel's output efficiency is raised to 50-100% (depending on strength of sun) generating a faster charge, with the controller regulating battery charge voltage to exactly what a 12V battery needs.

With OptiMate Solar Duo charge controller you can now leave your solar charge panel permanently connected to your battery - not only does it charges the battery better and faster, there is no possibility of overcharging!

And that's not all, at night the controller turns into a battery monitor, indicating the status of your battery. Come morning, even in cloudy weather, it turns back into a charger and continues caring for your battery.
