The OptiMate Solar DUO 40W Travel Kit (model: TM522-D4TK) combines a weatherproof poly-crystalline 40W solar panel equipped with an adjustable rear stand, with the TM522-D charge controller to create a hi-efficiency smart pulse charger & maintainer for more effective care of your 12V lead-acid or LiFePO₄ (LFP) deep cycle batteries, perfect for campers, overlanders, boaters, and mobile professionals.

How it works : Unpack the panel from the nylon storage case, adjust the rear legs so that the panel is correctly angled towards the sun, connect the TM522-D charge controller to your battery and that's it! Your 12V battery is receiving effective charge whilst you are using it. The panel has anchor points to secure it in position.

The poly-crystalline solar cells work effectively with direct and angled sun, or with sunlight filtering through cloud, allowing charging in any weather. The OptiMate Solar DUO charge controller converts low current from the panel into effective charge pulses that work better at charging any type of battery.

With the OptiMate Solar DUO smart controller between the 40W panel and battery, the panel's output efficiency is raised to 50-100% (depending on strength of sun) generating a faster charge, with the controller regulating battery charge voltage to exactly what a 12V battery needs.

With OptiMate Solar Duo charge controller you can now leave your solar charge panel permanently connected to your battery even whilst you are using it - not only does it charges the battery better and faster, there is no possibility of overcharging!

And that's not all, at night the controller turns into a battery monitor, indicating the status of your battery. Come morning, even in cloudy weather, it turns back into a charger and continues caring for your battery.
