OptiMate TEST – Cranking & Alternator - TS120

The OptiMate TEST – Cranking & Alternator is a compact on-vehicle tester engineered to evaluate 12 V lead-acid (AGM, GEL, STD) and 12.8 V LiFePO₄ starter batteries. It checks battery state of charge, engine-cranking performance, and alternator/charging-system output — giving you a full health snapshot of the battery and charging system with a single tool.

• Start the engine — the OptiMate TEST automatically records and displays the lowest cranking voltage for 20 seconds.
• With the engine running, verify the charging voltage supplied by the alternator and regulated by the voltage regulator.

(Low charging voltage results in reduced battery performance. Conversely, excessively high charging voltage promotes excessive gassing and can ultimately damage a lead-acid battery. For LiFePO₄ starter batteries, over-voltage charging is critically harmful and can lead to immediate failure.)
